Multi-Instance Call Server (MICS)
With Mitel's unified communications call control software integrated into Sun servers, you never have to worry about being out of touch again. The MICS allows up to 200 instances of the 3300 to run simultaneously. If you lose one instance of the software, you can activate a mirror copy and immediately resume full communications. For an extra measure of protection, you can have TCI host a copy. The MICS also allows multiple departments and offices to share the same server for voice services, but use a specific version of the call control software to meet their particular needs. TCI can back up these off-site to fully protect your business.
VMware Virtualization
Soon, TCI will offer a backup service based on VMware's virtualization software. Mitel and VMware are collaborating to extend the benefits of virtualization to phone systems. For example, a virtual 'cloud' could be extended from your organization to secure servers at TCI, where host images of your call control software and voice applications can be stored. This will eliminate the cost of networked IP Phone systems to achieve the same result, and offer you even more protection.
